The rooftop lounge at sunset: two armchairs and low stone tables turned toward the Intracoastal Waterway, the yachts below and Palm Beach Island on the horizon

The rooftop · Thirty-one stories up

The day begins where the sky does.

A sculptural pool, a spa and an open-air terrace for meditation share the roof, high above the Intracoastal.

A pool drawn as a curve

The rooftop pool is a curve rather than a rectangle: it follows the edge of the roof and seems to run on into the Intracoastal. Daybeds rest in the shallows, cabanas keep the shade, and tropical planting sets the loungers apart from one another.

Swim at first light, while the waterway below is still. Linger at dusk, when the island across the water turns gold and then blue. Even on a full afternoon there is room up here to be alone.

Rooms for a slower pulse

Behind the pool the roof turns inward, toward rooms that ask for nothing but time.

Dawn
The open-air meditation terrace, before the heat and before the boats, with the waterway still and the light arriving from the ocean.
Morning
A session in the yoga and Pilates studio, or an hour in the fitness center before the day begins.
Afternoon
The spa and its treatment rooms, for the hours when the sun is high and shade is worth more than light.
At home
An infrared sauna can be added to the primary suite, so that the rhythm of the roof carries on at home.

None of it is a schedule to keep. The rooftop is there in the morning and still there at night, to be used as often, or as rarely, as you like.

A terrace that follows the curve

High above the gardens, every home steps outside onto a terrace of its own, and the terrace is where the day is spent whenever the weather allows.

Each residence holds a corner of the tower, so its terrace wraps around two sides and turns with the light through the day. Below, yachts come and go along the waterway, small and silent from this height.

Floor-to-ceiling glass stands behind it, so that in good weather the great room and the open air read as one generous space, and the view is the same from either side.

Dinner, brought up to the terrace

Some evenings are for staying in. In-residence dining is served by the team Mandarin Oriental forms for the house, and the terrace table is laid and cleared as a good host would do it — a quiet supper, or a long evening with friends, with the lights of the waterway below.

For larger occasions the shared rooms of the house hold a private dining room and an alfresco terrace, so that a celebration never has to leave home.
